In the great majority of Florida leak calls the field of the roof is sound and the failure is at a detail. Rubber pipe boots are the single most frequent culprit: ultraviolet exposure cracks the collar long before the surrounding shingles wear out. Flashings, valleys and skylight seals account for most of the rest.
Drying matters as much as patching. Wet cellulose and fibreglass insulation will not dry on its own in Florida air, and mould can start within a couple of days of materials staying wet. Get fans and a dehumidifier running as soon as the water stops, and expect that saturated insulation may need to come out rather than be dried in place.
